It is always exciting to see a new business come to town. This mean that the Manchester, CT area residents will have greater options for goods and services. Furthermore it provides a new source for employment and revenue to the community.
Beth, the executive director of the Manchester Area Conference of Churches (MACC Charities) which operates Bistro on Main recently contacted our business. She was looking for an upscale look for the restaurant’s window graphics. As a result this consultation led to recommendations and products to allow G-FORCE Signs & Graphics to show different areas of our workmanship. Let’s look at some of the steps that brought about this sign project for Bistro on Main.
Combining Services can Save Money in Manchester, CT
Bistro on Main, serving Manchester, CT & surrounding areas, was looking for sign options that would give them the best “bang for their buck”. As a small business, when deciding where to have services done; money is always a factor. There is a careful balance when business owners compare products and services to price.
In our consultation we determined that they were looking for some attractive window graphics, dimensional letters and directional signage. Most of all by doing all of these products at the same time saved money for the customer and labor for G-FORCE Signs & Graphics. Clearly a “Win, Win”.
The Project -Process
Step One: Product Design
Our client Beth was looking for a design that was upscale in its appearance and easily recognized by their customers. To keep with this, we recommended a design for the windows to incorporate etched glass vinyl to brand a classy look. We used the upscale design to create custom directional signage for customers that park behind the building. This signage helps them find their way to the front of the building; accordingly greeted by the host at the front door. Furthermore, the location of Bistro on Main posed specific design challenges. The historic downtown Manchester district had specific guidelines for exterior signage; as a result, our company designed and installed acrylic dimensional letters on the face of the building that met the historical guidelines.
This type of signage is one of the first impressions that customers will see. (whether it be in Manchester, CT or elsewhere) Because first impressions are so important, close attention must be given during the initial consultation and design of the project. By providing examples, we were able to identify the fonts, colors, graphics and sizing needed to create the sign project to Bistro on Main’s specifications.
The final design of the project was approved by Bistro on Main prior to material selection and installation. They were also able to see a full color rendering of what the finished product was to look like before the installation began.

Step Two: Project Materials Selection
First of all the project specifications are identified in the design. As a result we look for the proper 3M or Avery materials that will best suit the application. The customer’s print materials are carefully selected, based on the quality and durability our customer expects. For this multi-sign project we chose Avery Etch glass vinyl for the doors, laser cut acrylic dimensional letters with brushed aluminum sign panels.
Step Three: Project Installation
As part of the process for vinyl application, dimensional letter sign installation and custom directional signage the installation crew will received a design template. (printout) These templates identify the location points for the most important elements in the design. Our vinyl materials are then pre-printed, cut, labeled (numbered) in the sequence needed for installation. Because of the specific nature and positioning of these three different products, this is where experience is especially relevant. Naturally, careful attention was paid to the specific guidelines that the historical downtown Manchester district identified for signage.
