Not long ago, we had the honor of executing a sign project for ERM.
ERM stands for Environmental Resources Management. As the name suggests, ERM was formed for the betterment of the environment. ERM is a leading global provider of environmental, health, safety, risk, social consulting services and sustainability related services. For nearly 50 years ERM has been working with clients around the world and in diverse industry sectors to help them to understand and manage their environmental, health, safety, risk and social impacts.
Recently, we were approached by professionals from ERM who wanted us to make logos and signs for their new office location in Glastonbury, CT. They specified the desire for signs for their front door, lobby area, conference rooms, as well as the main office. While the task was challenging, we are not known for backing off and bugging out, so we stepped up.
Here is what we did for them.
The Front Door
The front door of an office is what says everything about a company, and has a major impact on the customers. After putting a lot of thought into it, we decided to keep the front door simple, by installing frosted vinyl, in which the name and the logo of the company were contained. We created the perfect balance between visibility and creativity and the frosted panel was a hit!
The Reception Area
After we were done with the front door, we came to the reception area, which needed a lobby sign. The materials used for the lobby sign were acrylic and reclaimed wood. The lobby sign was made with reclaimed wood with an acrylic panel on top of a standoff that had the company’s logo and name. The name and logo were placed behind the receptionist’s desk so that they were visible even from a distance.
Conference Rooms 
For privacy in the conference rooms, the window graphics were made of frosted vinyl. To add a creative twist to the otherwise conventional frosted vinyl, we cut pieces of vinyl into innovative designs, thus giving the walls a unique look.
To make the main conference room stand out, they wanted us to highlight efforts made by the ERM Foundation. The ERM Foundation was established to enable ERM and its employees to provide technical, fundraising and volunteer support for non-profit organizations and social enterprises that share the same commitment to creating a more sustainable and equitable world. For that purpose, we mounted color prints on acrylic panels, the standoffs of which were made of brushed aluminum. These standoffs went perfectly with the brushed aluminum letters above.
We gave a Connecticut farm theme to all the conference rooms, which looked beautiful. Furthermore, we added colorful photos with frames made up of pecan finish frame material to go with the furniture.
The Main Office Area
For the cubicles in the main office area, we used local topographic images, perfectly mounted on aluminum frames.
We had a great time working for ERM. Not only did we manage to provide them what they paid for, but we also got to learn a lot from the experience.
